    Starlume, Nashville TN

Q. How did the project come into existence?

Our singer, Landon Rose, and drummer Corey Eggleston met about 8 years ago in Branson, MO where the were both working in theaters; Corey as a sound engineer and Landon as a stage actor. From time to time, pictures of Landon dressed up like a soldier or Jesus will surface and give us a good laugh! He was an aspiring songwriter and looking for a drummer to start a band so he and Corey hit it off.

Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it? I

n addition to Corey and Landon, who also plays guitar and keys, the rest of the band is bassist Isaac Wriston and guitarist Nate Woodall. They joined and completed Starlume in 2008 after Corey and Landon relocated from Branson to Nashville, TN. At the time, Isaac was still a student going to college in Alabama and making 8 hour round-trips to town just to rehearse and play shows. Nate had just moved to Nashville from Salt Lake City where he was a snowboarding junkie and middle school teacher.

Q How would you describe your sound/genre?

Epic, cinematic, pop/rock might be the most fitting way to describe what we do. Anytime we write a song, there is always a point in the process where we have a conversation or argument about what we can do to make each part the song more intense for the listener. Just to clarify though, our arguments aren't arguments like the Police had...no punches, blood, or yelling at each other! They are more like arguments that Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute might have. Just silly and awkward sometimes!

Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?

Corey has played drums for as long as he can remember...more than 20 years! As mentioned, Landon has a theater background as well as choir and solo singing. Nate has a BA degree in music from Centre College. Isaac has been in about every type of band since he picked up a bass including ska, jazz, covers, funk, ect. Needless to say, it's sometimes hard to focus our attention when we get together to write new material!

Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?

Yeah, our friend Jon King (Augustana, Darling Parade, Throwing Gravity) produced our last EP. He has a great pop sensibility and is VERY attentive to detail. He produced our last EP as well so we gave him the freedom of final say on what we were recording this time since we have built trust in his abilities and judgment. It wasn't always easy since we were used to doing things our way, but he had a vision for the final product and we're all very proud of it!

Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the band's sound or that you have used as inspiration for your music?

Since we're all so different when it comes to our personal taste in music, it's hard to pin-point one definate musical influence. We all wish we were songwriting greats like Tom Petty, the Eagles, Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, the Beatles...but our music doesn't sonically line up with any of those guys. A lot of our inspiration comes from non-musical things...just life in general. People. Love. Hardships. Dreams. Our music is about issues or feelings that are common to just about anyone.

Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?

Set goals for your band or project and do something productive every day that helps you move closer to your goals. Even if it's something small, it all adds up. If you aren't working towards your goals, you don't have a chance because there are hundreds or thousands of bands that want the same thing that you do and they are willing to work for it.

Q. Where can people go to learn more about you and hear your music?

Our website is www.starlumeonline.com and it has links to all our other stuff...Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, iTunes, ect.

Our email is also starlume@gmail.com. We love to hear from people who are interested in what we do and aren't too cool to answer messages or emails from fans!

Q. If you could play anywhere in the world or with anyone you wanted where and who would it be with? Opening for Muse at the O2 Arena would be a hard gig to pass up...

Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?

As a group, we have made our best music to date and that feels really good. We've had some really rad shows, met great fans, had our music on national TV and radio, and traveled the country...but the feeling of being able to continually get better as a band and not get stuck in a rut is very satisfying!

Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?

We will be having an **EP release show in Nashville sometime in the middle of February.** Check our website or Facebook soon for more details.

Q. Where do you see yourselves or hope to be in about 5 years?

Touring steadily...maybe 200+ shows a year and continuing to make new music and new fans! Everyone has different ideas of success, but at the core of it, success for us is being able to make an honest living doing what we love to do!
